Spain logged a record exports in the first quarter and reduces 14.9% of the trade deficit

Foreign sales rose by 4.4% to 60,973 million euros, faster than the average for the euro area. The trade deficit receded 14.9% year-on-year to 5,524 million and the coverage rate rises to 91.7%. In March, exports grew 12.5% to a monthly record high and the trade deficit receded 56.6%. Spanish exports of goods rose 4.4% in the first quarter of 2015, up to 60972.8 million. This amount is a record for a first quarter since the beginning of the time series (1971).
